"Between Two Worlds" : Jeff Denson/Romain Pilon/Brian Blade
Last year, my old friend and wonderful bass player, Jeff Denson, called me for a series of concerts in California. We had only seen each other one time in Brooklyn, NY since we were studying together at Berklee College of Music, twenty years ago! From the first notes, it was clear that the joy of playing music together was intact, and the connection is still obvious. At the end of the tour, to document this reunion, Jeff asked me if I would be into recording an album and said, "I think I have the perfect drummer for this project!" To complete the trio, this drummer he was thinking of, was none other then the legendary Brian Blade! (...Wayne Shorter, Joshua Redman, Chick Corea…).
A few months later, the dream was real and the three of us met in a studio in Oakland, CA to record 10 compositions (Jeff and I each wrote 5 tunes).
This album, "Between Two Worlds,” is now available worldwide.
